In April 2006, UNGIS (United Nations Group on the Information Society) was endorsed by the UN-Chief Executives Board (CEB) as the new inter-agency mechanism with the main objective to coordinate substantive and policy issues facing the United Nations’ implementation of the outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS).

Nineteenth Meeting
Nineteenth UNGIS Meeting — 31 May & 3 June 2022
The nineteenth meeting of the United Nations Group on the Information Society (UNGIS) was held as part of the WSIS Forum 2022. This meeting comprised the UNGIS Leaders High-Level Breakfast meeting that took place on Tuesday 31 May 2022 and the Working Level meeting that will took place on the Friday 3 June 2022.
The meeting provided an opportunity to advance the Group’s objectives and to coordinate substantive and policy issues facing the United Nations system in the implementation of the outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS).
